ERC Broadband partners with government agencies, all levels of academia (K-20), non-profit and private sector businesses in order to meet the growing Internet-oriented demands of the Western Carolinas. Below are examples of the many groups/businesses we work with to fulfill our mission.

to distribute and archive NOAA's WSR-88D Level II radar data.
National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration The National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) includes, and is comprised of, the National Environmental Satellite, Data and Information Services; National Marine Fisheries Service; National Ocean Service; National Weather Service; Oceanic and Atmospheric Research; Marine and Aviation Operations; and the NOAA Corps, the nation's seventh uniformed service. DOE
ERC Broadband works with UT-Battelle, the U.S. Department of Energy, and the Energy Efficiency and Renewable Energy Program at Oak Ridge National Laboratory to facilitate the development of new energy conservation and efficiency technologies in the Western Carolinas that will support technology transfer in the region. City of Asheville NC The ERC collaborates with the City of Asheville NC to expand fiber resources in the region that enables greater broadband access and availability to the inhabitants of Western North Carolina, as well as utilizing the City's Geographic Information Systems to visualize the best areas to concentrate resources on, thus enabling a more efficient build-out of the broadband network. Buncombe County Government The ERC partners with Buncombe County Government to support the county's Internet and data management goals, collaborations in applied visualization of GIS data, and in all areas of the HUB initiative, in particular developing and expanding a greater regional infrastructure to advance the region's strengths. Advantage West
and
e-NC
The ERC works with AdvantageWest in support of broadband expansion in rural NC communities. Specifically, we support wireless network expansion in the region, and help expand technology-based economic development in WNC communities by laying fiber and connecting networks to ERC Broadband's network. EDUCATION
Asheville Buncombe Technical Community College ERC Broadband and AB Tech partner to provide greater Internet access and faster connections to its campuses. Additionally, ERC Broadband has built a fiber connection to the College's Enka campus in support of students, inhabitants of the technical incubator, entrepreneurial center, as well as other organizations. Pisgah Astronomical Research Institute
PARI is located in Brevard, NC in the former NASA Satellite Tracking Station. Its primary focus is to provide hands-on educational and research opportunities in science, technology, engineering as well as other disciplines. (link)

University of North Carolina Asheville
and
NEMAC
The National Environmental Modeling and Analysis Center (NEMAC) is located at the University of North Carolina Asheville and is a national center for the modeling and analysis of environmental data. (NEMAC link, UNCA link)
Western Carolina University ERC Broadband has a Point of Presence on campus where we support Internet connectivity at WCU and work closely to advance educational partnerships and technology commercialization in the region. (link)
